Colors ACT
by Sergey Kurtsev

Requires: Windows 95/98, 16MB RAM, 256 colors (Hicolor recommended)

Pick a color, any color... except that one, or that one, or that one...

From the motherland of Russia comes a delightful new game of strategy that's so easy to learn, you'll be playing within minutes. The object of ColorsACT is to fill up more of the playing field with your selected color before your opponents do the same. The only rule to the game is that on your turn you select a new color not already in use by another player. As your new color spreads through your previously colored territory, it also absorbs any adjoining areas that match its color. So, after a few wise choices, your territory could streak out to the middle of the playing field, engulfing prime area. Your opponents will be cut off at the pass as they used to say. Or... if you're not so lucky, you'll get a slow start and watch as your opponents' colors expand and fill in around your territory. The game's over when all the neutral areas of the playing have been absorbed.

Colors ACT is a great alternative to solitaire as you can play solo against one to three computer opponents. If you have a few friends over, just change some of the computer opponents to human players in the options menu. You can even play your friends over the Internet! You can also set timing options and number of colors available for a more challenging game.
